ABOUT ME

I am a mixed media artist from Yorkshire who explores a wide range of themes but at the moment I’m focusing on my experience living with Narcolepsy and how that affects my everyday life. I use various materials including acrylic paint, drawing ink, paint pens and coloured pencil. My artwork is a reflection of the struggles and the serious nature of my disability that can often be used as a joke. My creative practice is heavily influenced by colour theory and using a bold palette to enhance my subject matter. I see my work as a way to reach out to other people who suffer from my rare condition and to spread awareness to my audience. Other subjects In which I explore are the parts of everyday life that pass by without us noticing and the small familiarities we all share. I like to balance between hyperrealism and less figurative styles of painting in my practice. My goal as an artist is to raise awareness not only for me but for others too and to share my niche experience living with narcolepsy alongside maintaining a somewhat normal life.
